This week we enter the Belgium Classics sequence.  It’s a busy week so you need to be on the ball with your picks or risk the fate of Delagdo.  No time to snooze.

The current forecast for next week in Belgium is dry with gentle breezes so we are unlikely to see riders being blown into ditches this year.

Coming up this week we have –

  1. Driedaagse Brugge – de Panne (Women) – Thurs 28th
    1. 2018 Results were as below.  The 150km race begins in Bruges and finishes in De Panne.  d’Hoore is unlikely to be defending following a broken collarbone following a crash at Dentse 8, developing rider list can be found here.
      1. d’Hoore
      2. Hosking
      3. Majerus
      4. Weibes
      5. Brennauer
  2. E3 Harelbeke (Men) – Fri (29th)
    1. 2018 Results were as below.  Now officially the E3 Binckbank Classic, it starts the Flemish Week of the Spring Classics with 15 hills over a 204 Km route, further details of the route and rider list here.
      1. Terpstra
      2. Gilbert
      3. van Avermaet
      4. Naesen
      5. Benoot
  3. Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields (Women) – Sun 31st

      1. Bastianelli
      2. d’Hoore
      3. Klein
      4. Sierra
      5. Pieters
  4. Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields (Men) – Sun 31st
    1. 2018 results were as below.
    2. The 81st edition of Gent Wevelgem will be run over a 251 Km route, further details of the route and riders list here.  Will the sprinters get their chance this week?  With fair weather in the forecast it does seem likely.
      1. Sagan
      2. Viviani
      3. Demure
      4. Laporte
      5. Debusschere

So picks will open on Monday for Driedaags Brugge and E3 Harelbeke, Thursday for Gent Wevelgem (Women) and Friday for Gent Wevelgem (Men).  Plenty of opportunity for Delgados there then!

As usual please submit picks on the OTR League Page.  Note I have to do manual updates to the Picks Table so don’t worry if your picks don’t show for a while.  I try to keep on top of it – but I just might be out for a few hours riding some days!  Retirement can be tough.
