Welcome to On The Rivet Cycling Banter. This site is to permit like minded cyclists (mainly Road and Gravel) to exchange friendly banter and the odd fact. You can browse the site to view content but you need to register and be logged in to post content. This is NOT Facebook and any abuse will be moderated and the Soigneurs reserve the right to bar offenders from the site. On The Rivet respects The Rules. However, this is always tempered by that adage “Respect The Rules. If you can’t respect the rules, then don’t get caught. If you do get caught, take your punishment.” Punishment will be meted out by the community in the form of self-administered beating with a mini-pump.
Riveteur a. Cyclist who rides at the limit of their capabilities / at maximum effort. b. Member of this community. To ride On The Rivet is derived from cyclists having a tendency to move forward on the saddle at maximum effort to the point where leather saddles had a Rivet to attach the leather to the saddle frame. Still to be seen on Brooks saddles and similar types.
