We are back to a double header this weekend with Milan San Remo on Saturday for the Men and Trofeo Alfredo Binda on Sunday for the Women.
Last year Milan San Remo sam Nibali break away with 6.5 Km to go and hold off the sprint trains leaving a final result of –
- Nibali
- Ewan
- Demare
- Kristoff
- Roelandts
Will a breakaway take it again, will the sprinters survive over the Cipressa and Poggio and get their fill this year, will Sagan open his 2019 Classics account? Details of teams and riders here.
For the Women 2018 saw Niewiadoma break away for a solo win with the pack sprinting for the places. Final results were –
- Niewiadoma
- Blaak
- Vos
- Spraat
- Amialiusik
Details of teams and riders link will be provided when I can find one!
At the moment this is the best start list I can find………
As usual please use the form on the OTR League page to submit entries. The form should be working this week after last week’s problems. At least my SP does not have any updates scheduled (that I know about)!
Chuckp takes it for Trofeo Alfredo Binda and pops ahead of RobSandy into 5th in the standings. Chapeau.
Keep in touch for next week as with 4 races Picks will be opening and closing rapidly!
I think dancollins will have this one. Chapeau. Will do the result shortly. Great finish by Alaphilippe.
How do you know when spring has arrived? When the long thin line of the peloton is strung out on the coastal road contesting the opening Monument of the racing season: Milan-Sanremo – also known as La Classicissima and La Primavera.

TV coverage in US starts in an hour!
Deceuninck-Quick-Step would appear to have a strong two pronged approach for Milan – San Remo with Viviani in for the bunch sprint and if he gets dropped on Cipressa or Poggio then Alaphilippe is in strong form to go for a breakaway per Nibali last year. Choices, choices……..
