Agreed. Happy to see Benoot showing form too. VERY happy to see Viviani’s Italian champs jersey has been redesigned on a horizontal format instead of that hideous vertical version.
Bernal blew the main peloton apart on the final climb but a great ride from Tolhoek to hang on for a stage win from the breakaway. Shame that the camera missed it when Bernal turned on the gas, it was clearly being set up but the director missed it. Moves Bernal into the overall lead.
G OK after a checkup. Though as Wiscot says he could have done with the mileage in competition vs more training miles. At least he can be back on the bike.
Will be interesting to see how Bernal fares with the team behind him now (I guess).

I just saw that! WTF? Ineos must be a tad worried. Even if GT’s injuries are superficial, I’m sure GT needed the hard racing of the TdS to get himself in shape.
Hmm – G crashes in today’s TdS stage and staying down. Looks like he will be out of the TdS………currently looking at his shoulder but he also bashed his head judging by the cut………
Looks to be OK as he is changing his jersey – presumably though just to get in the team car. Road rash to back and shoulder.
Also Aru moves up to 9th. Good to see him with some form on his comeback from Iliac surgery.
